How to compare pages and build a dashboard

Compare two pages or two groups of pages side by side, then keep the figures you watch most on a dashboard.

Compare pages#

Pick a First and a Second from one list that holds groups and single pages. A group adds up its pages. The table lists these figures for both sides, with an Ahead column naming the better one:

  • Search impressions, search clicks, click-through rate
  • Average search position (lower is better)
  • Sessions, conversions, conversion rate
  • Page-basics score

If a side has no data for a figure, the cell says no data and that row has no winner. A blank is never treated as a zero.

Dashboards#

A dashboard is a page of widgets over the same figures. Start from a template: Search overview, Visits and conversions, Page basics or Blank. You can add up to 12 widgets:

  • Single figure: one number for the pages in view.
  • Top pages: the top seven pages by a figure you choose.
  • Note: your own words about the numbers.
  • Clicks by week: weekly search clicks, optionally against the weeks before.

A Pages in view filter narrows every widget to one group of pages. It tells you how many pages match before you press Apply. Each dashboard shows who made it and who last edited it.
