SEO glossary A to ZWhat the Market position screen shows
See how many searches a month happen in your market without you on the first results, and which rivals hold them.
Market position answers one question: how much of the demand in my market am I missing? It reads the Google results for the searches your pages target and counts the monthly searches where your business is nowhere in the first results.
What is on the screen#
- The big number. Searches a month with you absent, set against the searches you win today, with a plain ratio: for every search you show up for, how many happen without you.
- The queue, already scored. The extra visits a month from the moves PageSoar has ranked. This is the one modelled figure on the page, estimated from how often people click each position. Everything else is measured.
- The five biggest, in order. Pressing one takes you to the Next moves plan.
- Not counted above. Searches where none of your rivals appears are set aside as not your market. Every row is yours to overrule with Count it or Not ours, and the change applies wherever that search is used.
If it is empty#
The screen needs market data, which PageSoar provides. Until it is switched on for your workspace the screen says so, and your pages keep their Search Console positions. Until the first read has run it says no searches have been checked, rather than showing a zero.
Local businesses also see a card of who shows up in the map result near them. Next, see how to choose your next moves.
