How PageSoar measures whether a change worked
Each published change is compared with similar pages left alone, and ends with one verdict: improved, went backwards or too early to tell.
Search traffic moves for reasons unrelated to your edit: a season, an update, a news story. So PageSoar does not report one average for the whole site. It compares each edited page with similar pages you left alone, over the same weeks and from the same search data, before and after.
Every change ends with its own verdict:
- Improved. The edited page gained more than comparable untouched pages.
- Went backwards. It did worse. This is said as plainly as a win, and what worked shapes the next drafts.
- Too few visits yet / still measuring. There is not enough data to tell.
The numbers are read from your own Google Search Console and Google Analytics. Connecting them is what lets PageSoar tell a win from a rising tide.
